What Does Psalm 29:11 Mean?

The LORD will give strength to His people; The LORD will bless His people with peace.

Psalm 29:11(NASB)

Verse Thoughts

The Lord is all-powerful, and He is eternally omnipotent. He has no rival in the heaven above, in the earth beneath or in the waters below. His strength brings protection, help, mercy and joy – and the Lord will strengthen the weary and give grace to those who are humble of heart.

It is the same powerful Lord that controls the flashing lightening and the raging waters. It is the same merciful God Who gently whispers peace be still into our stormy heart. There is no mountain too lofty that cannot be moved at His command, and no occasion that you are facing to which He will not respond.

The Lord knows His people but His people must know their Lord and trust in the power of His might, by faith – so they can say in full assurance, the Lord is my strength I will not trust in my own abilities, the Lord is my strength and I will trust in Him – the Lord is my strength, indeed, and He will give strength to His people. The Lord will bless His people with peace.

The Lord not only gives us His strength in time of need, but He also blesses His people with peace. He blesses those who believe in Him, with the peace of God, that passes all human understanding. He not only removes the barrier between God and man, but He desires His people to rest in His love, and to know His own precious peace, deep within their hearts, so that they may enjoy sweet fellowship with Him.

The Lord has blessed us with every spiritual blessing, and all His promises to us are all ‘yes’ and ‘amen’ in Jesus Christ our Lord. All that we have to do is to appropriate them, so that no matter how fiercely the storms of life batter our tiny boat, we have confidence in the One Who rules the tempest with His word and causes the stormy seas to be still.

No matter what life throws your way, you can have confidence in the truth of God’s Word and joyously proclaim, the Lord is my strength and He is my peace.

My Prayer

Loving Father, You have never failed me in the past and I trust You in the future to be my stronghold and my peace, for You are my Lord and my God, and I love You, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN
