What Does Ephesians 1:13 Mean?

In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation--having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise,

Ephesians 1:13(NASB)

Verse of the Day

Faith comes by hearing the pure message of truth in the Word of God, the gospel of our salvation. And Paul rejoiced that when this group of Christians HEARD this message of truth, they BELIEVED, and when they believed they were immediately SEALED with the promised Holy Spirit.

The moment that a sinner believes the gospel of salvation he is sealed with the Spirit, Who is promised by the Father to all who believe in Christ. What comfort this produces in the hearts of all God's children. We are secure in Christ and eternally safe in the hands of the Father, for when we are faithless, He remains faithful.

His promises are sure and everlasting. His seal is secure and cannot be broken. All who believe in Christ are sealed in Him, by the Spirit of God, unto the day of Redemption as a gift of grace from our Father in heaven.

This truth is as sure and secure today as it was 2000 years ago, for all who have believed that Christ died for their sins, was buried, and rose the third day to redeem us from the world, the flesh, and the devil, are securely sealed in the palm of His hands.

We are covered with the blood of Christ and stamped with the ownership seal of Spirit Who is God's GUARANTEE that all that He has promised us will surly come to pass. We are bought with a price and sealed unto the day of redemption.

All the praise and glory to our wonderful God and Saviour.

My Prayer

Heavenly Father, how I praise and glorify Your holy name for the immeasurable riches that have been bestowed on me, at Christ's expense. Thank You that You have placed Your seal of ownership on me so that none can pluck me out of Your hand. Help me to live in the power of the Spirit, to Your praise and glory, all the days of my life. In Jesus' name, AMEN.
