teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age."
Matthew 28:20(NASB)
Just before ascending to the Father in heaven, the Lord Jesus commissioned His followers to go and make disciples of all the nations, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever He had commanded them, and then He made the most astonishing claim: "And, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen."
The Lord Jesus promised to be with His disciples for ever and for always. He promised to be with each one of them. He promised to stay in union with each of His followers. He promised to remain in the midst of all of them. And His precious promise reaches down the centuries, touching each of His children, to the very end of the age. Jesus promises to be with us to the end of the world. And then He shall make a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth will pass away, and we will be with Him for eternity.
Jesus is our Good Shepherd Who has said He would never leave us nor forsake us, no matter what situation we find ourselves in, no matter what difficult life-circumstances we face. He has promised to be with us forever and always, no matter what burdens press in on us, no matter what personal difficulties embroil us and no matter what impending evil is crouching in the shadows.
All authority in heaven and earth and under the earth has been placed under His control, and He says with authority: "LO, I am with You, even unto the very end."
Thank You, Father, for Jesus. Thank You that He is the Head of His Body, and thank You that He is with me, no matter what difficulties press in on me or what evil circumstances surround me. Thank You for His reassuring presence and His precious promise to be with me always. Give me the grace and opportunity to witness for You and to teach the truth of Your Word to all with whom I come in contact, to Your praise and glory, AMEN.
