What Does John 17:24 Mean?

"Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, so that they may see My glory which You have given Me, for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.

John 17:24(NASB)

Verse of the Day

Our citizenship is in heaven, and one day Christ is coming back to take us to be with Himself in our heavenly home, for He is preparing a place for us in His Father's house.

And just a few short hours before the Son of Man was lifted up on Calvary's Cross as the sacrifice for the sin of the whole world, He prayed to the Father for His disciples and for all who would come to trust in Him as Saviour, through their faithful witness: "Father, I want ALL You have given me to be with Me where I am. I want them to see all the glory You have given Me, because You loved Me before the foundation of the world."

The answer to Christ's beautiful High Priestly prayer is as certain as His Word is faithful and true. The answer to Christ's glorious supplication on our behalf, stands fast on the unbreakable Word of God, and all who trust in His saving work on the Cross as our sin-substitute, are covered by His blood and clothed in His righteousness, and all will shortly see the glory Christ has been given by the Father: "For You loved Me before the foundation of the world."

God always answers the prayers of His beloved Son, and one day Christ will come from the throne of God, where He is seated at the right hand of the Father, to take us to be with Himself into heavenly glory. What a day that will be, for we shall behold His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace, truth, and love.

As that day approaches, may we tell abroad the wonderful gospel of grace to all we meet, and as His love fills us, may it overflow into the lives of those around us, to Your glory.

My Prayer

Thank You, Father, for Your Son Jesus Christ Who died to pay the price for my sin. Thank You for the free gift of eternal life and a home in heaven with You. How wonderful that one day I will see the glory of Christ and bathe in the love that You shared, before the foundation of the world. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
