What Does John 17:14 Mean?

"I have given them Your word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

John 17:14(NASB)

Verse of the Day

The Word of God is true, His Word is eternal, and the Lord Jesus has given us the Word of the Father. We have been given the gospel; the good news that God loved the world so much that He sent Christ to pay the price for our sin. He broke the power of sin and death in our lives and freed us from its bondage, forever.

The world is at enmity with the Father, and the world hates the anointed Son of the Father. And we who are justified by the blood of Christ do not belong to this current world system, for we have a permanent and eternal citizenship in heaven. We who are sons of God have been saved from the bondage of the world and adopted into the family of God Because of this, the world's hatred of God spills over to us and we too are hated by the world and its satanically driven system.

We are to stand for the truth of the Word that we have been given, for God's Word is LIFE. We are not to love the things of the world nor to be conformed into the practices and standards of the world, for the things of this world are deceitful and deceptive, and flirting with the world system is both dangerous and futile. We have been given God's wonderful Word, which is light and life, health and joy. And God's wonderful Word is in direct opposition to the practices and standards of the world.

The work of the Holy Spirit in our lives is to conform us into the likeness of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the more we become like Him, the more we will be hated by the world. The world seeks to draw us away from our rest in the Lord, but we have been given the Word of God, and in Him we have everything needed that pertains to holiness. And He is sufficient for whatever trials and difficulties we may face, during our brief sojourn in this world system.

My Prayer

Loving Father, thank You for Your Word. Thank You for Jesus. Thank You that I have been taken out of bondage and placed into Christ. Thank You that my sufficiency is in You and I love You Lord. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
