What Does 1 Timothy 1:17 Mean?

To the King of ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.

1 Timothy 1:17(ESV)

Verse Thoughts

What a beautiful and comforting description of our God and Father – He is the eternal, immortal, invisible King of the ages, the Ruler of time, the Sovereign of eternity, the Governor of the earth and Creator of the universe. He neither sleeps nor grows weary, upholding all with the might of His power. He is in full control of all that was and is and is to come – for He knows the end from the beginning and has scheduled every day of our lives.

Though we were dead in our sins, at enmity with God and eternally separated from Him, in His grace and love He stooped down in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ and rescued us from slavery to sin and the eternal death sentence under which we were all placed. No surprise that Paul who considered himself to be the least of the apostles and chief of sinners, penned this beautiful and comforting description of our God.

All honour and praise and glory and blessing be to God forever and ever! He is the eternal King of the ages, the immortal, invisible, eternal and only wise God for ever and ever - for He alone is our God and Saviour, amen.

My Prayer

Thank You loving heavenly Father for loving me enough to visit Your creation in the Person of the Lord Jesus Christ – for loving me enough to die for me on the cross so that I might live with You into eternity – You truly are my glorious King of the ages and are deserving of all my love and praise through time and into eternity – praise Your glorious name, forever AMEN
