What Does John 14:27 Mean?

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

John 14:27(ESV)

Verse Thoughts

We have peace, peace – wonderful peace with God, because we are saved. Through believing on Christ’s finished work of redemption, we have peace with God for Christ is the propitiation for our sins, Who made peace with God on our behalf.

We have peace, peace – the wonderful peace of God that passes understanding, even though days of deep distress and troublous times, when we submit to His leading and follow His example, by saying: not my will but Thine be done -

We have peace, peace – the wonderful peace of Christ’s own perfect peace for we are in eternal union with our Saviour, and we can enjoy precious communion with the Father as we walk in spirit and truth. We have been given the peace, peace wonderful peace of the Spirit of Christ deep in our inner beings, for He has taken up permanent residence without our bodies., through all time and into all eternity.

Christ left a wonderful legacy of His inner peace – His wonderful gospel of peace to be shed abroad to a world in clamour – a world of strife and a world of broken lives and deep pain, so that all that believe on Him will have wonderful peace with God and the wonderful peace of God. Humanity longs for perfect peace, precious peace – God's wonderful peace, but there is no peace on earth without Christ.

There is no rest outside of Him and there is no hope unless we are reconciled to the Father through Christ Jesus, Who gave His own little flock His gift of peace, peace – wonderful peace, when He said, My Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.

May the God of peace be with you, as you rest and remain and abide in Christ’s peace – His wonderful, wonderful peace.

My Prayer

Loving Father thank You that I have peace with You and that I am now Your child and have Your perfect peace in my heart. Thank You Father that Christ is my Peace - my wonderful peace, Whose Spirit is forever dwelling within me. May I shed about His wonderful peace to all I meet today, in His name I pray, AMEN.
