But when the fullness of the time came, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the Law,
Galatians 4:4(NASB)
There were many godly men and women, both Jews and Gentiles, who were saved by faith prior to Jesus coming into the world. All men and women of faith that were born prior to Christ, were likened to underage children who were still under the tutorage of a schoolmaster; having a future inheritance but not yet able to access it.
Though heirs of the promises and the riches of God's grace, they were still, as it were, under bondage; under the Law. They had to wait for the wealth of the Father to be bestowed on them at the right time (when they would reach the age of maturity, which in God's economy was called: "The fullness of time.")
When God sent forth His Son into the world to be born of a woman, He was born under the Law. Jesus lived His life under the Law and He lived a perfect, sinless life under the Law. He fulfilled all the righteous requirements of the Law, which qualified Him to become the sin-sacrifice for the whole world so that who believe on Him might be saved.
God GAVE His Son so that all men and women of faith, past, present, and future, could be forgiven of their sins and receive eternal life. God SENT his Son into the world at the appointed time: "In the fullness of time," so that He could save us from our sins.
Yes, God sent forth His Son at the right time and He was born of a woman and born under the Law so that we might receive forgiveness of sins, come into full son-ship with the Father, and receive His promised inheritance and the riches of His grace.
Let us praise the Lord, the God of heaven and earth, the God of time and eternity, for His amazing grace and mercy.
Thank You, Father, for sending Jesus into the world at the right time. Thank You that Jesus became a man and fulfilled all the righteous requirements of the Law on my behalf so that I might be forgiven of my sins and adopted into Your family, for time and through eternity. AMEN.
