But by His doing you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification, and redemption,
1 Corinthians 1:30(NASB)
The moment we were born again, the Holy Spirit baptised us into Christ. He positioned us in Christ, and we exchanged all that we were for all that He is. As members of His Body, we became one with Him.
When God looks at believers, He sees the perfection of Christ, the wisdom of Christ, and the righteousness of Christ, for we are one with Him. God sees nothing of what we were, for positionally He only sees Christ in us and God has accepted us in the Beloved. God accepts us on one condition - Christ.
Our own human wisdom is of non-effect to God, but Christ became our wisdom (for in Him dwells all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge). Our fallen sin nature has no righteousness of it own, but Christ became our righteousness (for God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God).
We cannot save ourselves, but all are all justified freely by His grace, through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. And just as we are unable to save ourselves, we cannot sanctify ourselves. But Christ is also our sanctification, for through His life and death He sanctified Himself so that we also may be sanctified by the truth.
When we are in Christ, God sees us as perfect through His Son, but we have a choice to LIVE the life that Christ lived on earth. He lived in spirit and truth, in utter dependence on the Father, and in total obedience to Him. In order for us to follow His example, we need to submit to the Spirit and allow Christ to live in us so that we are not simply positioned in Him, but functioning through Him; allowing the very life of Christ to be lived in and through us, by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Thank You, Father, for this glorious truth that I am positioned in Christ Who has become unto me wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. I pray that I may also allow Christ's life to be lived through me so that I am not only positioned in Him, but allowing His life to be lived through me. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN.
